 Weekly Modules

Welcome to SOC 161 !

In this class, we explore how gender is socially constructed, why gender matters in society, and how it functions in our everyday lives. This course seeks to help you build a basic understanding of gender and sex by introducing several theoretical perspectives. We will introduce classical readings that explain gender from a biological, psychological, and sociological perspective. More importantly, our discussion will focus on applying these theories to real-life situations in the family, workplace, and political context.
