The first critical passage I put down was "Her attitude was aggressive, funny, challenging." I then unpack this quote, saying that these are characteristics that describe an antihero and are appealing to the reader but "also generates her into a threatening figure."
The second critical passage I wrote was, "You gonna take me as I am pal, or what?" I unpacked this quote by stating that being asked something like this "from an aggressive figure displaces a sense of power onto them." I then state that this is not typical for an attractive woman, and furthers her dominance.
The third passage I used was, "She could put a charge in your morning." I then said, as part of the unpacking that being able to do this "increases her power" and stems from being the one that "energizes the men in the office."
My ability to formulate relevant analysis can be seen throughout this assignment. Through Professor Ramon's advice and input from the class, I gained a deeper understanding of how to relate analysis of quotes to the topic of my paper. These pieces of analysis are all successful in portraying that the femme fatale is becoming the anti-hero, which is the positon the paper takes.
