One of the biggest changes in my rhetorical analysis was the construction and revision of my introduction. In my original introduction, I was not really sure of what I was trying to make a claim of and all I was really doing was kind of summarizing what the book was about, saying that it talks about Coates' experiences. That was a problem since there was not a claim in the introduction, which would not have been able to allow for a thesis to develop and make a claim. After peer edits and a revision from the instructor I was able to more clearly layout what was going to be talked about in the essay, providing rhetoric which is essential to the rhetorical analysis. Another big change that I had included in the essay was the use of outside sources. With these outside sources they helped to further prove the claim I was trying to make throughout the essay, but the book being a source that I mostly took from the use of the photo of Coates and Samori was what helped to provide the rhetoric necessary to complete the essay.
