Revisions: When I initially wrote this piece, I tried to incorporate multimodal writing but did not have much previous experience. I revised my Self Assessment immediately after class and implemented the significance of the quotes and images I had placed in my Self Assessment. I also took a lot of the feedback I received in class into consideration. Danilo highlighted a lot of the grammatical and sentence structure errors my Self Assessment had. Additionally, Instead of an image that would not enhance my argument, I added a quote from my Writing 37 Cover letter to emphasize my level of writing before entering Writing 39C. 

Part 1: My Writing

As a college students, I believe we are all considered writers because we are constantly always participating in writing assignments, always using rhetor. Personally, my writing has many areas in need of growth and control. One of my biggest weaknesses is my language, this does not allow for me to effectively deliver my message to my audience. I am hoping to be able to tackle this weakness in Writing 39C by constantly revising my work and finding new tools to effectively persuade my audience.

Part 2: My Research

Research plays an important role in my affiliated major, Public Health, because there is always a need for new insights and innovative solutions to health problems. When I think about research, I think about Biology 199. In this case, it is more hands on experimenting rather than looking at historical files for information. Research is about discovering and that is attained through various sources whether its experimentation or interviews. I only picture myself as a researcher when I am in my weekly lab. This is because, research is not something I do on my free time.

Part 3: My Interest In Our Course Theme

After reading the introduction to “Better”, I am thrilled to continue reading because it is motivating and intimate. As a Public Health major, a lot of my friends are looking into this profession and it refreshing to understand the lifestyle they want for them. Based off the unsettling tone, I am afraid this book will only continue to convince me against joining the medical field. Generally, I am really looking forward to learn about the many challenges that come with being a doctor that are usually kept hidden.

I have provided images to demonstrate my improvement in the use of multimodal artifacts. Fig.1 is a screenshot that includes the image I used in my self assessment assignment. Considering this was my first attempt at using multimodal artifacts, this image did not provide enough information to enhance the rhetoric in the text. Fig. 2 is a multimodal artifact I used in my HCP. I was able to include a multimodal artifact that could communicate with my reader at a visual level. The reader is able to see the growth in child poverty over the years thus emphasize that this is a problem.
