The most challenging aspect of my composing process is to use sources to provide insightful analysis. A good research paper needs to include many materials and sources to analyze the topic of climate change. Hence, how to effectively organize the sources to write a comprehensive and in-depth analysis is a great challenge for me. The major parts of my draft and final project will include an introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Notably, the very important part is body paragraphs in which I would gather all the information and outcomes from the research articles I read to further analyze the topic. However, what sources to be used in the draft is difficult to decide for me. When I searched for “climate change”, Google showed dozens of pages of articles related to it, thus needing me to select the most representative ones in order to narrow the broad topic down. More importantly, it is important to make sure that these sources are relatively new and issued by an authority that they are used to effectively support the article’s argument. Additionally, how to assign the sources in these body paragraphs is not an easy task for me. Specifically, I need to consider how these sources will help me conduct in-depth analysis. For instance, human activities and green-housing gases emission have a greater impact on climate changes in comparison with natural changes, thus I should read more sources related to these two parts and find more related articles. In general, the types of sources and assigning them appropriately are the most crucial task when constructing my final draft.

So far, the most rewarding aspect of my writing process lies in finding sources. The topic is related to analyzing climate change, and it requires further narrowing down in order to provide a in-depth analysis. Only if I find enough and authoritative sources, I can go on scientific analysis on the causes of climate change. First, finding sources is the most valuable since it can prove my argument. Specifically, I collected data about human activity and the release of green-housing gases’ impacts on climate to prove my view that human activity and the release of greenhouse gases significantly contribute to climate change. For example, I found an article in which NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine admitted that human acclivities were primarily responsible for climate change (Same now). In addition, I also gathered information about natural changes greatly influencing climate to prove that natural change is one of the causes of climate change. Secondly, finding sources is the most rewarding aspect because it helps me form a basic structure of my essay. Though searching the references, I recognize that the main causes of climate change can be summarized into three points that are improper human activity, the release of green-housing gases, and natural changes. Hence, I plan to elaborate on these points into full and comprehensive body paragraphs. As a result, finding sources is the most valuable aspect of my writing process because it helps prove the thesis argument and shape the outline of my essay.
