RA Draft

When first thinking about the rhetorical analysis essay, I was definitely unsure of what I was going to write about. I was also certainly a little confused on how to begin my introduction to present a sense of rhetoric, which is the most important component of a rhetorical analysis essay. Most of this uncertainty was stemming from the fact that I was having difficulty trying to understand Coates' message and expecting to find explicit answers to the social injustice problems he was addressing. This was very much the attitude I had when first composing the draft. I was uncertain of what to include in my essay because the book was not all clear to me. This attitude carried out throughout the draft when first composing it, but not as much as by this time we had received feedback on our outlines and I had more or less found what I had wanted to write about. Some of the planning for writing the draft was done through the outline that we had to complete and submit before the start of the draft. Then there was some more after that, trying to plan when it would be best to incorporate outside sources like the book reviews. The distinction between my sense of the work and that of the feedback received by peers and instructor was somewhat something I had expected, some problems being wordiness and awkwardness in sentence structure.
