Imitation Project

For my Imitation Project, I chose option #1,  and decided to create a modern day version of the Little Red Riding Hood. I switched the forest out for high school, the wolf for a senior jock, and Little Red Riding Hood for a shy, sheltered freshman girl. When this project was assigned I was definitely nervous because creative writing was still so new to me. My first attempt was horrible so unfortunately, I deleted it. My second attempt ended up being my rough draft but I struggled for sure. I spent a lot of time staring at the screen trying to figure out what to write next and how to make the story flow. After the first two pages, I beat my writer's block and knocked out the rest of the story. I am very proud of myself for finishing the project and being happy with what I turned in. This was a very difficult assignment for me because I have always struggled with short story writing and having so much creative freedom as I mentioned on my Home Page. I am very satisfied with overcoming my difficulties and growing as a writer from the Imitation Project.

Some positive feedback that I received on the rough draft from you was:

"Nice. Classic fairy tale intro" and "Nice sensory detail"

This helped me continue on my writing because I knew to continue adding sensory detail. You also helped remind me that my writing was supposed to be a fairytale and not just a short story.
