Some key course concepts that we learned in this course are genre, rhetorical situation, critical reading, and the writing process. Genre can be many things. As an object its the form of a medium, audience and or audience. As a process, it needs to be established and reestablished. Finally as a context, it is what makes certain things what they are. When examining the rhetorical situation, pay attention to counterarguments, factor in the context of the piece, determine if the author believes the values that they present, and notice hoe the author frames social norms. Critical reading is similar to close reading because both actions require you to analyze and interpret what it is you are reading.

Critical thinking and critical reading are very similar in the sense that they both try to analyze the text, but critical reading tries to find information within the text while critical thinking takes the information given and uses ones own thoughts to make a consensus. Invention and drafting are very essential in any type of writing. Everyone makes errors and with this draft process you can catch these errors. You can also make sure your essay sounds right and makes sense. Collaborative feedback also helps with similar issues as drafting. When you make revisions  it makes your essay that much better and closer to perfect.

The knowledge and skills that I learned in WR 39B that I can apply to WR39C are my close reading, drafting, and learning about how to build an argument. I know that in WR 39C the essays in the course will be more argumentative driven and will rely heavily on the outside sources that I chose. WIth my knowledge on close reading I can find out which source to use, one that will help support my argument. By drafting more, I can make my essay strong and more concise. In WR 39B we learned how to build an argument and I will use this information to better my argumentative essay is the next course.
