  • After having read R.U.R twice, and after the lecture sessions, I would get inspired to write notes about how I would want to relate this science fiction play, as well as the Golem movie, Suvin's Essay to my genre analysis essay:

Even though not all those ideas were much developed in the final draft, such as the idea that both the Golem and R.U.R were written during war periods. However, it was while I was writing these notes that I made the connection between science and religion and how science was the mad scientist's religion.

  • As mentioned in the intro, a huge plus I got from this class in to thoroughly cite and refer to examples in texts, plays, sources, etc. In the link that leads to another of my notes that I take after lectures, you can see how I start by formulating ideas and arguments for my genre analysis essay and towards the end, I realize that I have to add examples, so I do so. And note taking after note taking, I developed the reflex to add examples that support my claim concerning genre conventions, from the source I'm working with.
