A thesis contains both a rationale and a position. In the thesis machine exercise, the class worked on formulating theses, then identified the position and rationales of other people's theses in class.

By looking at the assignment we did in class, it can be concluded that I was able to successfully identify the rationale and position of each thesis, and therefore understand what should be within each. When creating my theses, I knew to include both a position and a rationale, and to identify the audience or the people that the thesis relates to. Keeping this in mind, I was then able to complete this assignment, which contributed to the successful development of several theses in some of my papers.
