I think Neeko has a bitter feeling towards the town. She is torn because of how she relates the town to the death of her true love, “my true love died in a dirty old pan.” Also because of this death she has began to have unfamiliar feelings towards the town, “buildings are empty like ghettos or ghost-towns.” At the same time she also misses and loves her town, which is shown through the lyrics  “Well I don’t make it home much, I sadly neglect you” and “it’s a dusty old jewel.”
