Reflection:

When creating my idea for my RIP, I didn’t realize how important the social and historical context would be. As I began answering the questions being asked in the assignment I came to a realization that this does matter. Without knowing the social and historical context, stories and information I give to the audience would have less of a meaning. I was able to do research, as suggested, to help me find the answers to these questions. I did research on the topic of cyberbullying and I was able to find out during what time the topic was occurring and taking place in. I was also able to find information on how cyber bullying has affected people in society today. The social and historical context behind cyberbullying was something I personally wanted to become more aware of since social media and the media in general has greatly taken over our lives and has changed from the past generations to the current generation. Being able to provide this information to the audience will bring upon them the importance of raising awareness about the wrongness of cyberbullying.

Below I provided you all with the assignment full of questions to answer based on the social and historical context of my topic: cyberbullying.

  1. What does your audience need to know about the environment that you're writing about?

They need to know that individuals are mentally brought down in society by being bullied online. People hide behind screens posting unnecessary rude posts about others.

  1. How does the context affect your message and purpose?

The context affects my message and purpose because it correlates exactly to what I am trying to persuade the audience to believe. I want them to know that cyberbullying needs to be prevented and it is a serious issue.

  1. How does the context affect your genre?

The context affects my genre because it connects in the way in which I am trying to show them how to prevent cyberbullying, so I am using a how-to guide to persuade the audience.

  1. How does context affect your methods of persuasion?

The context affects my methods of persuasion because I am using the examples of cyberbullying scenarios that will show off how much of a serious
