• We started preparing for this narrative essay, with annotation assignments.
• First they were filled with the basics: what is diction, metaphors, types of sentences. Then we quickly moved on to writing pieces by other authors that showcased those sentence structures, and illustrative writing.

- Sam Anderson's "Flavours of Space-Time" (snippet)

• This piece was a very good introductory gateway for food writing. The food descriptions were filled with so much metaphors. The intense diction, and amazing image building created such vivid photos in your head you saw it before you. 
• It had also such description for the flavor it appealed to your other senses like smell along with taste. The extremely accurate interpretation of how the food tastes makes you feel it. 

This piece was very important for me to see where we were going with this assignment and we were working towards. 

• Moving on to a narrative essay piece By Jennifer Choi. It was a cohesive, and detailed essay all about her favorite dish, and how she felt about it.
• It not only included descriptive writing but also story and plot, with anecdotes that struck you. 

• - Jennifer Hope Choi's "No Vacation is Complete Without a Cooler Full of Gimbap" (Snippet)

• This piece was there to connect our descriptions of food and our writing that appealed to the senses to personal meaning and their impact.
• This piece had more than just descriptions, it had anecdotal stories of the dish. It had personal connection, it had a plot along with story, and amazing figurative language. 

This piece was the piece to pull from, it was packed with the right amount of plot that made us feel her embarrass,ent to her dish, and shame. It appealed to ur senses, and reached out to our emotions all at once.
