Personal Introduction:

My name is Zongbao Chen. I have an English name, Kevin. I am from China. I came to the United States at around 4 years ago and I’m now a senior student here in UCI. My major is International Study and I love my major very much, even though sometimes the courses are difficult. I often swim in summer. I also love watching movies, especially the old movies from Hollywood, France, China, and other countries . I really love the blue sky and beautiful sunshine in our city. This is the picture of me and my younger sister.

Self-Assessment:

I toke the class of Writing 39B in the spring session of 2016. Writing 39B, critical reading and rhetoric. This course helped me a lot in critical reading and writing of rhetoric. In this course, I finished some discussions and assignment of writing rhetorical analysis and rhetoric-in-practice project. This class helped me improve my critical reading and rhetoric skills. I had ever conducted independent research and analyzed sources to address a specific problem in international politics and other classes. I think climate change and sustainability is an important issue to concern and to talk about, especially in the 21th century. I have not encountered these problems in my study before but now in this course I have the chance to study and write about it. I think my biggest challenge in 39C is the analysis of the topic and grammar. English is not my first language but I spent a lot of time and energy on learning, writing, and using it. I have confidence to achieve my goal in this course, and I hope I could do it well with the help of my professor and classmates.

These are my personal introduction and self-assessment at the beginning of our course. (And also I did some revision to make it better) I have already listed some of my weakness in writing such as the problem of analysis of the topic and the problem of grammar. I am willing to improve my writing skills to overcome these problems.
