RIP Message and Purpose Analysis

Answer all of these questions fully about your RIP. Make sure that you have good reasons for all of your choices.

1. What is your message?

2. Why is this your message?

3. What engages you about this topic?

4. What engages your audience about this topic?

5. Why does this matter?

6. What are you new ideas (insights) in terms of this message? How are you thinking about this differently than others?

7. Is your message arguable? Complex?

8. What is your purpose? Why?

9. How do you think you'll persuade your audience of that purpose?

Reflection:

This optional homework activity in week eight allowed my to draw the concrete idea I had for my poster. This

served as a more in-depth outline for my presidential poster for T'Gatoi. Upon, answering these questions

I realized that I have essentially carved out a guideline for what my paragraph long message is supposed to

answer. Therefore I quickly finished the small paragraph on the bottom of my poster and clearly showed what

my message is and who the message is primarily targeted towards. Also, by answering these question I cleared

the hardships I had on how I would write a persuasive message that is also extremely clear and concise.

Specifically question five gave me the biggest help since I was also struggling on how I should relate my work to

the real world, but since I answered why my message matters it became relatively easy to find secondary

sources that would help me along my way in my essay.
