In the first five weeks, I was introduced with the idea of rhetorical analysis. After completing the rhetorical analysis paper, I became more comfortable with using the rhetorical triangle to aid the process of analyzing others work. By taking a step back and asking myself what the context is I am able to clearly determine what the message is, how it is delivered and the techniques used to strengthen the percussiveness such as pathos, logos and ethos. Then through asking myself who the writer is, I am able to find a bigger significance behind the message by researching the history of the writer. For instance, while analyzing Bloodchild, I looked into the past of Octavia Butler and realized that she wrote Bloodchild as a way of helping herself conquer the fear of botflies. Lastly, by asking myself who the message is prepared for, I am able to determine many aspects of the audience such as their hobbies, gender, and even age group. By familiarizing myself with the rhetorical triangle, I am able to make better rhetorical analysis. Then as I progress closer to the end of the course, I was assigned a task to mimic the writer who sends messages that relates to something that relates to class. I chose to pick to portray a message of gender equality by making a presidential poster for the fictional character T'Gatoi as she promises her people equality among species in the world of Bloodchild. After mimicking the writer I will then analyze my own message in the rhetoric in practice project. This process will allow me to further improve my skills in rhetorical analysis and make thoughtful connections between the message and the real world. To reinforce the connection between the reality  and my analysis, I used secondary sources which served as an good way to expand upon my analysis.

For the poster I chose to attach a  platform after having difficulties in getting my point across to my reader clearly. I went though numerous meetings with my professor as I had questions on the ways to quote myself and I realized that I failed to reference my work while making backing up my quotes with secondary quotes. from renown people. After dealing with that issue I moved on to the process of refining my poster so that it can better persuade the readers attention though various methods rhetoric methods.
